Abstract

During the Great Patriotic War and the following years, historical novels, autobiographical novels, novels, and prose works were published in Soviet Armenia, in which the distant but heroic past of the Armenians was described, as well as in realistic, gloomy colors – the not-so-distant past, the Armenian Genocide with its many episodes. The latter reality is that these works depict not only the atrocities of the Turks and Kurds but also justify the participation of the Germans in the Armenian Genocide; in some cases, there is also talk of European bourgeois diplomacy, which hinders the solution of the Armenian problems in every way. In some of those works, there is praise for the Soviet order; as a rule, the country’s leader behind the achievements is also remembered.
